Research's domains
Clinical neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience and applied neuropsychology
Research in our laboratory follows three major axes; i) research in clinical neuropsychology and behavioural neurology (case reports, and group studies), ii) fundamental research in cognitive
neuroscience, investigating normal cerebral function in healthy subjects, iii) investigations in applied neuropsychology involving diagnostic procedures.
In clinical neuropsychology, through a classical anatomo-clinical and cognitive approach, higher function deficits are explored in their relation to specific and focalised brain lesions. Basic research in healthy subjects involves two main themes. The first concerns brain mechanisms participating in visual and attentional processing in the normal brain using different neuroimaging techniques. The other explores the lexical and semantic language processes during language comprehension and production in bilinguals. Finally, applied research focuses on elaborating psychometric tests (from development to normalisation) to answer clinical questions such as the cerebral lateralisation of language processes in a given patient prior to neurosurgery.
